Hadi Partovi, Co-Founder and CEO of Code.org, launched an Indiegogo campaign to bring an hour of code to 100 million students worldwide. With contributions and matches from Mark Zuckerberg, John Doerr, Reid Hoffman and more, the organization raised more than $5 million making the campaign Indiegogo’s most funded of all time.

We The Kings Shoots to the Top of the Charts

We The Kings, an American rock band, launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund their fourth album without a label. After raising nearly $150,000, the group released their new songs for download and the record quickly shot up to the number two spot on the iTunes Overall Top Albums chart.

Smosh Dominates a New Industry

Smosh, a comedic duo with a widely popular YouTube channel of more than 19 million subscribers launched an Indiegogo campaign to create a 3D single-player action adventure game. The final product can now be played on PC, Android and iOS devices thanks to contributions from 2,937 funders on Indiegogo totaling nearly $260,000.

Matter and Form Raises Funds to Transform 3D Printing

Adam Brandejs and Drew Cox, Co-founders of Matter and Form from Ontario, Canada, designed the first affordable 3D scanner that could be used by anyone in the world. The team raised more than $470,000, has shipped hundreds of products to contributors and has now raised $2 million from Sandstone Asset Management Inc. and MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF).

After becoming the most funded film on Indiegogo raising $2.48 million, Rooster Teeth’s “Lazer Team” is now in production and slated for a highly-anticipated Spring 2015 release. Fullscreen, a massive YouTube network of more than 50,000 video creators, has also since acquired rooster Teeth.

When Corporal Nathan Cirillo and Warran Officer Patrice Vincent were tragically killed in Canada in late 2014, two concerned citizens came together to launch and Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for their families. In one week, 3,455 people from all around the world came together to raise nearly $400,000.

Writer and Director Justin Simien raised more than $40,000 on Indiegogo to create the trailer for Dear White People, a film on race relations in America. The film premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and has become the highest grossing crowdfunded box office hit in history.

Good Spread Peanut Butter Feeds Thousands

Mark Slagle and Alex Cox, entrepreneurs from Nashville, Tennessee, raised $69,518 on Indiegogo to take their peanut butter company, Good Spread, to the next level and produce enough for a six-month run. After mailing the final product to nearly 600 people, Slagle and Cox launched a second campaign and is now distributed by Harris Teeter, a large chain of 215 grocery stores. The peanut butter has also enabled the socially-conscious company to provide more than 33,000 packets of food to malnourished children in Central Africa.

MVMT Watches Hit the Scene

Jake Kassan and the MVMT watch team started their campaign on Indiegogo to bring a new stylish and affordable watch to the public. After being so successful in their first campaign, exceeding their goal by 1,466% to raise $219,898, the company began a second one, raising another $71,409. After shipping to nearly 3,000 contributors, MVMT watches are now in 30 Urban Outfitters stores across the US and Canada and the founders recently won Shopify’s Build A Business contest.

Misfit Shine Changes the Game for Wearables

Sonny Vu, CEO of Misfit Wearables launched a new type of activity tracker, the Misfit Shine, and raised nearly $850,000 on Indiegogo. After using the platform to gain data and demonstrate value in the market, the Misfit Shine was delivered in August 2013 and the company also went on to raise $15.2 million in Series B funding, followed by a $40 million round in December 2014. The product can now be found at Best Buy stores, Target stores and Apple Stores across the country, and has partnered with Beddit and Victoria’s Secret.
